Project ‘Give A Line, Change A Life’
Campaign Date: 9 March 2020 – 8 March 2021 (Completed)
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, digital connectivity has undoubtedly become an essential need for everyone to communicate with one another, search for information and carry out digital functions such as online payments and transactions.
For ex-offenders who have been away from the community for a long period of time, such need (digital connectivity) is an important component of their successful reintegration into society. Under the Project Give A Line, Change A Life, we support ex-offenders who have served more than three years in prison with six months’ worth of unlimited data mobile plan. On a case-by-case basis, sponsored smart phones can also be issued to those with genuine need for devices.
Through the Project, we hope to help them reconnect with families and friends as they rebuild their lives after prison.
We thank all donors who have contributed to this campaign through credit card on Giving.sg, PayNow, bank transfer or cheque. This will help us towards this goal of enabling our beneficiaries to become digitally connected.
Festive Celebrations for Children and Families of Reformed Offenders
Campaign Date: 1 April 2020 to 28 February 2021 (Completed)
During times of festive, we would always like to celebrate with our families and friends over sumptuous food and company. Yet the low-income families under our care have always lack the means to afford a good celebration with their loved ones. Seeing this gap, we stepped in to provide some help – some festive goodies and assistance to uplift the spirit of the families through a well-deserved celebration and provide a sense of hope that the community cares for them. Whether it’s Hari Raya, Deepavali, Christmas or Chinese New Year, let’s join hands as a community to bring festive cheer to these children and families!
Rebuild Lives Amidst COVID-19 #SGUnited
Campaign Date: 17 April 2020 – 30 June 2020 (completed)
Amidst COVID-19, we continue to reach out to those under our care – reformed offenders and their children and families whose livelihoods are at stake.
For Madam Salimah (not her real name), things are incredibly tough. The mother of three who used to work as a part-time kitchen assistant, has had no work scheduled since March 2020. Her husband, an ex-offender currently staying at a halfway house, also lost his job as a mover during this period. Staying in a 2-room rental flat with her children, she worries everyday about getting groceries during the fasting month, and milk and diapers for her young ones. One of her children was also recently discharged from hospital in end March due to adenovirus and UTI infection. It is a very challenging time for the entire family.
To support families like Madam Salimah’s, we have initiated this campaign to help them tide over this difficult period. Under this campaign, we will provide essentials items such as masks, disinfectant sprays and other necessities and financial assistance to keep them going. We want to do more, but our resources are limited. We need your help to continue to keep these going! Please consider using your $600 Solidarity Payment to extend a helping hand.
We thank all donors who have contributed to this campaign through credit card on Giving.sg, PayNow, bank transfer or cheque. Thank you for supporting the vulnerable groups during this difficult period. Together we will get through this!
